I created my "Portable Contemplation Cube" in response to Brian O'Doherty's Inside the White Cube. I am mostly in agreement with his text, but want to insist on the importance of contemplative spaces for art. My Cube is translucent, permeable, and can be disassembled and reassembled in a variety of contexts. It has been exhibited at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, Elon College, Wake Forest University and the Greenhill Center for North Carolina Art.
